To reach optimal reliability,
the GEMEX Lock is delivered installed on the GEMEX Motor Mount.
Here are a few tips to simplify
the installation:
|
Disassemble
existing motor. If the slide rails are in good condition, the motor stand
can be mounted directly on them, make a "loose" assembly. Mount the motor
"loosely" as well.
If the system
is to be mounted on a foundation, place the motor stand on the foundation
and assemble the motor. Put the cogged plates in the beam so that they
grip into the cogging on the beams. Adjust to the correct position and
parallelism – find a front position with the cylinders in their lowest
position where the belts can be put on easily. (Picture 1). Mark out the
holes in the foundation and drill for fasteners.
|
|
Disassemble
the belts and begin by tightening the beams in the motor console against
the slide rails/foundation. Then tighten the motor fastenings. Throughout
the tightening process, check that the pulleys are aligned and that the
axles are parallel (Picture 2). If possible, use a laser-levelling instrument.
|
|
Mount the
belts and adjust to the correct tension*. Release the cylinders to the
lower level so that the belts are completely slack. Then check the parallelism
and alignment, make fine adjustments if necessary. (Picture 3). Retighten
all the fixation points. Adjust to the required belt tension according
to the instructions under "Adjustment".
* Please
note that the cylinders for safety reasons are constructed so that they
will be evacuated if pumped up too high, thereby exhausting the oil into
the rubber bellows.
