Estimation of savings

Productivity enhancements for the maintenance organisation:

• In maximum 5 minutes, one man can check the belt tension with ease and adjust the tension of the belts without uncovering the belts covers, through the connected manometer
• In maximum 10 minutes, one man can easily change the belts without realigning the pulley and adjust the exact belt tension
• Safety will be increased through the concept of the Gemex mechanical/hydraulic motorshelf, due to ease of use and minimum mechanical intervention
• A non-specialised technical worker can maintain the machine easily, no special education is required
• Problems with oxidised threads on the adjusting screws are eliminated
• Gemex concept works in most environments

Energy savings:

Due to the accessibility and easy of use of maintaining the belt tension and the right alignment, an energy saving of minimum 5% will be taken. (once the machine is correctly installed and aligned, no alignment is needed during the next maintenance);

• Example for a 50 kW machine on a yearly base:

8700 hours x 50 kW x 2.00 /kW-h. x 5% makes: 
43.500 bef. / year or 1079 Euro/ year.
• Example for a 250 kW machine on a yearly base:

8700 hours x 250 kW x 1.50 / kW-h x 5% makes: 
163.125 bef. / year or 4.045 Euro / year.

The right alignment, and the correct tension will have a positive result on the life-cycle of  the belts, pulleys and bearings.

Savings per year: average of 30.000 bef. / year or 745 Euro/year.

Due to the Gemex  hydraulic/mechanical quick-locking system, the maintenance can be done in a very short period, so the production shutdowns can be shortened dramatically.

• Example: 

1 hour production is 350.000 bef. reduction of shutdowns per year to minimum 5 hours: 1.175.000 bef. (29.128 Euro)
